We ended up at the Wheelhouse for burgers. Nothing on their website or anywhere else at the casino mentioned these changes. Then, went to the Steakhouse, our 2nd choice: a sign in front said it also was closed for a private party. Found out via a sign that it was closed all evening for a private party. At around 6, we went to the buffet for dinner. It was good for awhile: found some decent video poker in the no-smoking section and had fun without losing much. We got there about 3 pm, figured we'd spend a couple of hours there, eat dinner, go check in at our hotel, and return for the evening's 'festivities'. Much of our decision was based on the Rivers website: buffet, steakhouse, special promotions, live entertainment, etc., listed for the evening.
We'd never been there before, and thought this would be a lot of fun. We booked a hotel package for last night - New Year's Eve - at the casino. New management with foresight, logic, common sense, and consideration for its customers.
